Turning Print Manager On

At any time, select the Printers icon on the Control Panel to open a dialog box
where you can turn Print Manager on or off.
For most printing, leave Print Manager on. Once the application sends a document
to the printer, Print Manager assumes control of it. This frees up your application
and computer so you can resume work on another task.
Printing without Print Manager can be slightly faster because your application
sends the document directly to the printer, without the intermediate step of handing
it over to Print Manager. However, you won't be able to use your application or
computer until all pages of the document finish printing.

What's in the Print Manager Window

The Print Manager provided with the Windows Printing System is an enhanced
version of the Print Manager included with Windows 3.1 and Windows for
Workgroups 3.11. Though the enhanced Print Manager looks slightly different than
the previous version, it works in much the same way.
The toolbar has changed for Windows and Windows for Workgroups 3.11:
Icons replace text on the buttons.
The new Print Manager has more buttons.
