Grounding a DC Powered System

The DC chassis provides two #10-32 threaded studs for chassis enclosure grounding. A
single 90º standard barrel two-hole compression terminal lug with 5/8-inch pitch suitable
for #14-10 AWG conductor (such as the Thomas & Betts terminal lug p/n 256-31426-141)
must be used for proper safety grounding.
NOTE
A crimping tool may be needed to secure the terminal lug to the
grounding cable.
Figure 35 shows how the four #10-32 nuts connect to the 90º two-hole terminal lug.
Tighten each to 10 in-lb torque.

Replacing the Four-Fan Assembly

CAUTION
Your server does not have hot-swappable fans. Before replacing any
of the fans, you must first take the server out of service, turn off all
peripheral devices connected to the system, turn off the system by
pressing the power button, and unplug the AC power cord from the
system or wall outlet or disconnect the DC mains.
