Configure Routing Interfaces

Type= interface type
The interface instance components are:
type—The type of interface you are communicating with. The Cisco CRS-1 router supports the POS
interface type for this release of the Cisco IOS XR software. To display the interface types available
on the router, enter the interface ? command in global configuration mode.
rack—The chassis number of the rack. In a single-chassis system, the rack number is always "0."
slot—The physical slot number of the MSC card that corresponds to the PLIM card of the interface.
For example, the slot number for an interface located on a PLIM in slot PL3 is the corresponding
slot "3" of the MSC card.
module—For routing interfaces, module represents the PLIM, and is always "0." By default, this
PLIM is associated with the line card specified in the slot variable.
port—For routing interfaces, port represents the number of the physical interface on the PLIM.
Interface ports are numbered from 0 to x, where x is the last number in the range of available ports
on the PLIM. For example, an 8-port Gigabit Ethernet PLIM would have port numbers 0 through 7.
You must use the rack/slot/module/port naming notation even if the card contains only one port.
Note
The Management Ethernet interface is located on an RP card. The physical slot number is RP0 or RP1,
the module is always CPU0, and the port is always 0. Example:
interface MgmtEth0/RP1/CPU0/0
