Serial Port Error Counts
The following error counts are logged for each port.
Error
Definition
Overrun
An overrun error occurs when a character is lost due to the input buffer
being full.
Parity
A parity error occurs when parity is enabled and the bit count of the
character received is invalid.
Framing
A framing error occurs when the reception of a character did not termi-
nate properly.
FIFO
A FIFO (first in-first out) error occurs when an error which caused the
FIFO buffer to become invalid occJ,Jrs.
Testing Displays/Memory
Selecting the Display port option (5) from the Test Selection Menu produces the Display
Port Menu.
