Replacing the MS120+ pump filter

Replacing the MS120+ pump filter

Schedule
Replace the pump filter at 8000 hours scheduled, or yearly.
Equipment List
• Clean chemical-resistant gloves
• Safety glasses
• Funnel
• 10-mm hex key
• Paper towel or shop rag
• Small plastic tub
• AFV 60 Gold Oil
Steps
1 Put on clean, chemical-resistant gloves.
2 Remove the cover by unscrewing the screws holding it in place. Place the
cover and screws in a secure location.
3 Remove the oil fill plug and place in a secure location.
4 Attach the oil discharge pipe to the oil filling hole with the charge fitting.
5 Use the funnel to add AFV 60 Gold oil to the instrument to between the MIN
and MAX lines, or up to half of the sight glass. Make sure not to exceed the
maximum fill line.
6 Remove the funnel and the discharge pipe from the instrument.
7 Reinstall the oil fill plug.
8 Run the pump at maximum vacuum level for at least 2 minutes. If the room
temperature is lower than 18 °C, run the pump at maximum pressure with the
inlet port closed and no load for approximately 15 minutes.
9 Stop the pump, check the oil level, then add more oil if needed using the prior
steps.
10 When oil level is satisfactory, reinstall the cover using a screwdriver.
