Neatly place the originals face up in the original tray.
Regardless of whether the originals are placed in the vertical or horizontal orientation, always set
originals with the first page on top and the top edge along the back edge of the original tray.
Slide the originals as far back as they will go, until the original set indicator lights.

Even out the edges of the originals before placing them into the original tray.
A5-size originals can only be placed vertically.
Do not place originals of different sizes together into the original tray.
Make sure that there is no original on the platen glass before placing your originals into the original
tray.
NOTE
Place A4-size originals from 129 to 200 g/m
Flip open the auxiliary tray when placing A3-size or A4R-size originals into the original tray.
The number of originals that can be placed into the feeder's original tray at one time is as follows:
- A3:
- A4, A4R, A5:

Copying starts.
IMPORTANT
Do not add or remove originals from the original tray after copying begins.
Regardless of whether or not the Original Recognition function is turned on, the feeder automatically
detects the size of the originals once originals are placed into the original tray. If you want to place
originals on the platen glass and have the copier automatically detect the size of the original, make
copies with the feeder lifted up.
