Acceptable Originals

You can use the feeder to copy originals with the following specifications.
Weight of originals
Original tray: 50 to 200 g/m
Single sheet document feeder: 38 to 200 g/m
Size of originals
A3, A4, A4R, A5
Copy quantity
The number of originals that can be placed into the feeder's original tray at one time is as
follows:
A3:
A4, A4R, A5: 100 sheets (80 g/m

IMPORTANT
Do not place the following types of originals in the feeder:
- Originals with tears or large binding holes
- Severely curled originals or originals with sharp folds
- Clipped or stapled originals
- Carbon-backed paper or other originals which might not feed smoothly
- Transparencies and other highly transparent originals
Originals that are themselves colour copies may not feed properly through the feeder, particularly if
they are copies that contain a large amount of toner. For these types of originals, it is highly
recommended that you use the platen glass for making copies.
When you use originals that are themselves colour copies, it is highly recommended that you use the
single sheet document feeder. If you place originals onto the original tray, they may be folded or torn.
If you load colour copy originals and other types of originals together, the maximum loading capacity
changes to the following:

- A4, A4R, A5:
Always check the condition of originals that have been fed through the feeder repeatedly. When
making copies of the same originals repeatedly, they may become folded or wrinkled and may not
feed smoothly.
