Removing a 2.5-inch hot swappable hard drive from a 3.5-inch
hard drive adapter

1 Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions section.
2 Keep the Phillips #2 screwdriver ready.
3 Remove the 3.5-inch hard drive adapter from the 3.5-inch hot swappable hard drive carrier.
NOTE: A 2.5-inch hot swappable hard drive is installed in a 3.5-inch hard drive adapter, which is then installed in the 3.5-inch hot
swappable hard drive carrier.
Steps
1 Remove the screws from the side of the 3.5-inch hard drive adapter.
2 Remove the 2.5-inch hot swappable hard drive from the 3.5-inch hard drive adapter.

3 Install the 2.5-inch hot swappable hard drive into the 3.5-inch hard drive .
Steps
1 Insert the 3.5-inch hard drive into the 3.5-inch hot swappable hard drive carrier with the connector end of the hard drive toward the
back of the 3.5-inch hot swappable hard drive carrier.
2 Align the screw holes on the 3.5-inch hard drive and the 3.5-inch hard drive with the holes on the 3.5-inch hot swappable hard drive
carrier.
3 Install the screws to secure the 3.5-inch hard drive to the 3.5-inch hot swappable hard drive carrier.
