Installing the intrusion switch

Prerequisites
CAUTION:
Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple
repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team.

that are shipped with your product.

Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.

Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.
Steps

Insert the intrusion switch into the intrusion switch slot.

Slide the intrusion switch until it locks into position.
3
Route the intrusion switch cable through the cable routing tab.
4
Connect the intrusion switch cable to the connector on the system board.

Cooling shroud

The cooling shroud has aerodynamically placed openings that direct the airflow across the entire system. The airflow passes through all the
critical parts of the system, where the vacuum pulls air across the entire surface area of the heat sink allowing increased cooling.

Removing the cooling shroud

Prerequisites

If connected, disconnect the cables from expansion card (s).
NOTE:
If required, close the expansion card latch on the cooling shroud to release the full length card.

If installed, remove the expansion card riser.
CAUTION:
Never operate your system with the cooling shroud removed. The system may get overheated quickly, resulting in
shutdown of the system and loss of data.
Step
By holding the sides of the cooling shroud, lift the cooling shroud away from the system.
