Managing and Troubleshooting the Versalar Switch Router 15000

Using the boot Command

Use the
software image and configuration file when entering the
system boots from the default image (for example, v15k.exe) and configuration
file (config).
Caution: You should have only one version of the config file on the router. To
ensure this, assign new names to alternative versions of the configuration file.
If you have alternative versions of the config file and you enter the
command without specifying the volume and configuration file with which to
boot, the processor cards can simultaneously load different configurations.
To boot the entire system with the default software image (for example, v15k.exe)
and default configuration file (config), enter the following command:
boot
You can also boot the router and name a specific image or configuration file; this
is a "named boot." A named boot uses the image or configuration file name that
you specify. To perform a named boot, use the following command syntax:
boot <vol> : <image_name> <vol> : <config_name>
boot <vol> :- <vol> : <config_name>
boot <vol> : <image_name> <vol> :-

Note: When performing a named boot, you must specify both the image file
and the configuration file. If you want to use a default file rather than name a
specific file for either the image or configuration file, specify the default file
using a dash (
