Managing and Troubleshooting the Versalar Switch Router 15000
FT1 loopback detection allows remote test equipment to conduct loopback testing
on an FT1 channel or logical line without affecting other logical lines. By default,
loopback detection is enabled.
We recommend that you perform loopback testing in the following order:
Test the DS3 interface.
1.
If there are no errors, test the DS1 interface.
2.
If the DS1 test results are OK, test the logical line.
3.
Note: The clear channel T3 access service tests the DS3 interface only.
The following sections describe how to perform loopback detection and testing.

Enabling or Disabling Loopback Detection

The accept-loopback-request parameter for a T1 or FT1 channel determines
whether the software accepts remote requests to go into loopback mode.
To enable or disable the acceptance of loop-up and loop-down requests from a
remote device, go to the T1 or FT1 prompt and enter:

FT1 interface accepts remote requests to go into loopback mode. This option is
the default setting.

To prevent slot 2, connector 1, T1 channel 4 from accepting remote loop-up and
loop-down requests, enter:
t1/2/1/4#

(the default setting) allows loopback testing to occur so that the T1 or
