SIMATIC VPU200/560 Programming Manual
This function key is used to force the status of an element
FORCE
F1
regardless of input or internal conditions. Once an element
is forced, it will remain in that state until changed by using
the UNFORCE (F4) function key.
When the FORCE function key is pressed, the screen will display the
following choices for elements to be forced:
The READ (F7) function key obtains the status for the element shown on
the prompt line. The SEEK (F8) function key is used to find the next forced
element of the type on the prompt line. The SEEK function key will check
the entire program for the forced element, beginning with the current
position in the program.
To force an element, first press the appropriate key. Next, identify the
element with its number next to the prompt which appears. After this, press
the right arrow key. If the element which was chosen is X, Y or C, then
pressing thee arrow key will allow you to choose the on or off status. If the
element chosen is WX or WY, then a menu of formats will appear after the
arrow key is pressed. From the selection of formats you should choose the
format for the word variable and then type the identifying number for it.
Finally, press the Return key to force the desired element and complete the
operation. If the cursor is on the right side of the prompt, press the left
arrow key to exit.
This function key is only available while the rungs of the
UP
F2
program are being displayed. It displays the next rung of
the program.
This function key is also available only while the rungs of
DOWN
F3
the program are displayed. It displays the previous rung of
the program.
This function key "unforces" an element previously forced.
