After the function key is pressed, the I/O Module Definition chart will be
placed on the screen. The cursor will be next to the word "Channel" when
the chart appears. You should type the number of the channel and base you
wish to configure. Once the channel and base numbers are typed, use the
arrow keys to move the cursor off to the next Yield.
You can now configure the I/O for the specified channel and base. Type the
beginning I/O address for the first slot in the column labeled "I/O Address".
The number for the address MUST begin on an eight point boundary.
Further, the address is restricted to the range allowed for each channel. The
following table shows the range of allowable addresses for each channel:
Next, use the arrow keys to move to the appropriate fields and type in the
addresses. Modules which have more than 8 I/O points are not to be
assigned addresses that extend over the boundary between two channels.
See the SIMATIC 560 Hardware Manual or the specific module data sheet
for the number of bit and/or word I/O points required for each module.
