Do not remove Dial-Up Adapter, AOL Adapter, TCP/IP-
Compatible Protocol-AOL Adapter or TCP/IP-
Compatible Protocol-Dial-Up Adapter.
7. When you are done removing all the unnecessary
components, click OK. When asked to restart, click No.
8. Return to the Windows Control Panel. Double-click
on the System icon. The System Properties window will
appear. Click on the Device Manager tab.
9. Scroll down to the items Multi-function Adapter,
Modem, Network Adapters and expand it by clicking on
the plus [+] or minus [-] sign next to it.
10. Starting with Multi-function adapter, remove all
devices with the name Linksys in it's description. (If at
any point you are asked to restart the computer, click
No). After you do this, the Network Adapter and
Modem headings may disappear.
11. Scroll down to the Other Devices section. Remove
all items with the word Linksys in them. (If Other
Devices is not listed, proceed to the next step.)
12. When you're finished, click on the Close button.
Use the Windows Explorer to go to the C:\windows\inf
directory.
13. Delete the following files only, and do not use wild-
cards:
NETLM.INF
MDMLM.INF
MFLM.INF
14. Next, go to the c:\windows\inf\other directory. If
you don't have this directory, just go to the next step.
