Original sensor: During one-to-one copying, copy paper is fed to the registration
roller before scanning, to increase the copy speed. The sensor monitors the
stack of originals in the feeder, and detects when the trailing edge of the last
page is fed in. This stops paper feed before the next sheet is fed.
Original width sensor: Uses an electrode plate, with terminals attached to the
document guides. The sensor output changes when the user moves the guides
to align with the document width. Because of this, the incorrect width is detected
if the user does not put the guides in the correct position.
The DF position sensor only detects when the DF is opened. The platen cover
sensor triggers the APS sensors.
