The charge roller gives the drum surface a
negative charge.
An ac voltage is also applied to the charge roller,
at a constant current.
The ac voltage helps to ensure that the charge
given to the drum is as uniform as possible.
The high voltage supply board - C.B, at the rear of
the machine, supplies the ac and dc to the charge
roller.
The machine automatically controls the charge
roller voltage if automatic process control is
enabled.
