Problem

The yellow ABS indicator lamp
lights up while the engine is run-
ning.

The red distance warning lamp
lights up while you are driving.
Possible cause
ABS is deactivated due to a malfunction. This
means that ESP and BAS are also deactivated
(see the messages in the multi-function dis-
play). The brake system is still available and
works as normal without ABS.
ABS has been deactivated due to undervolt-
age. It is possible that the battery is not being
charged.
The distance to the vehicle in front is too
short for the speed selected.

Continue driving, but with even great-

Visit a qualified specialist workshop
immediately which has the necessary
specialist knowledge and tools to car-
ry out the work required.
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you
use a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre
for this purpose. In particular, work
relevant to safety or on safety-related
systems must be carried out at a qual-
ified specialist workshop.

Otherwise, there is a risk of an
accident.
Switch off any consumers that are not
required.
ABS becomes available again once
the battery voltage increases.
Increase the distance.
