Possible cause/consequence
You have switched off the en-
gine using the KEYLESS GO but-
ton* with the selector lever in
position N and opened the driv-
er's door.
or
You have tried to switch off the
engine using the KEYLESS GO
button* with the selector lever
in position R or D.
You have tried to start the engine
with the selector lever in position R
or D.
Speedtronic, cruise control or
Distronic* is faulty.
The restraint systems have mal-
functioned.
Possible solution
Move the selector lever to P.
Move the selector lever to P or N.
Have Speedtronic, cruise control or
Distronic* checked at a qualified specialist
workshop, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz Service
Centre.
Visit a qualified specialist workshop imme-
diately, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz Service Cen-
tre.
