After you finish
If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use
any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
Install the air baffle
Follow instructions in this section to install the air baffle.
About this task
Attention:
• Read "Installation Guidelines" on page 121 and "Safety inspection checklist" on page 122 to ensure that
you work safely.
Attention: For proper cooling and airflow, reinstall the air baffle before you turn on the server. Operating the
server with the air baffle removed might damage server components.
Procedure
Note: Close the retaining clip on each end of the memory module connector before installing the air baffle
for proper cooling.

Step 1.
Align the air baffle tabs with the air baffle slots on both sides of the chassis; then, lower the air
baffle into the server.
Step 2.
Slightly press the air baffle down until it is securely seated.

1. Reinstall the M.2 backplane if needed. See "Install an M.2 drive" on page 169.
