mentarily push the switch to the "Open"
side or "Close" side.
After washing the vehicle or after it rains,
wipe away water on the roof prior to
opening the sunroof to prevent drops of
water from falling into the passenger
compartment.
! Anti-entrapment function
When the sunroof senses an object
trapped between its glass and the vehi-
cle's roof during closure, it automatically
moves back to either of the following
positions according to the point at which
it senses the object:
. When the sunroof senses the object at
a point between the halfway stop position
and fully closed position, it moves back to
the halfway stop position and stops there.
. When the sunroof senses the object at
a point between the halfway stop position
and fully open position, it moves back to
the fully open position and stops there.
The anti-entrapment function may also be
activated by a strong shock on the sunroof
even when there is nothing trapped.
NOTE
If the sunroof cannot be closed through
the switch operation because of sys-
tem failure, it can be closed manually
using a hex-head wrench. For the
procedure, refer to the "Sunroof – if
sunroof cannot be closed" section in
chapter 9 "In case of emergency".
! Sun shades
The sun shade can be slid forward or
backward by hand while the sunroof is
closed.
If the sunroof is opened, the sun shade
also moves back.
& Sunroof (Station wagon)
The front sunroof has a tilting function and
the rear sunroof has a sliding function.
! Tilting sunroof

Open

Close
To tilt up the front sunroof, open the sun
shade and pull the switch to the "OPEN"
side.
To tilt down the front sunroof, push the
switch to the "CLOSE" side.
If you wish to stop the tilting-up or tilting-
down motion of the front sunroof partway,
push the switch to either the "OPEN" side
or "CLOSE" side.
