Connect to TV
If your TV has Composite Video and L/R Audio cables (Yellow, White and Red

jacks), use the Composite Video and L/R Audio cables.
If your TV only has a RF connector, use the RF Coaxial cable. To connect the SD-

H400 to your TV, set the 3/4 switch on the back of SD-H400 to 3 (or 4, if a channel
is broadcast on 3).
If you have S-Video connectors on your TV, and you want the highest quality video,

you can use a S-Video cable along with the L/R Audio cables (leaving the yellow
composite video cable disconnected).
If you have Component Video connectors (Y/P

super quality video, you can purchase component video cables (Green, Blue and Red
cables) to use along with the L/R Audio cables (leaving the yellow composite video
cable disconnected).
Switch the I/P (Interface/Progressive) switch to Progressive (P) if your TVs or
monitors are equipped with component video inputs that are capable of reproducing
a progressively scanned video signal which allows you to view the highest quality
pictures with less flicker. Default setting at Interlace (I).
You can temporarily switch the output signal for better quality. Press
PROGRESSIVE on the remotecontrol to output progressive signal (only when the
SELECT (I/P) switch is set to 'P').

CAUTION:
Before you begin, make sure that all your
equipments are turned off and that the SD-
H400 is unplugged.
If your TV has only one audio connector,
connect just the white cable, instead of
both the red and white cables.
Watching one channel while recording
another.
Using the setup in dotted lines will enable
you to watch one channel while recording
another channel.
You'll need a RF splitter which can be
purchase at your local electronics store.
