Standby

You can put your DVR in Standby mode by pressing either the ON/STANDBY button on
the front of your DVR or the
Messages & Setup. To return to normal mode from Standby, press either the TiVo, LIVE
TV, or
button on your remote.
In Standby mode:
Your TV shows a black screen and the ON/STANDBY light on the front of the DVR
turns red.
Programs that are being recorded or are scheduled to record will still be recorded.
The DVR will still make a connection to the TiVo service, if scheduled to do so.
If you temporarily turned off TV Parental Controls, Standby mode re-enables them.
(See page 31 for more on TV Parental Controls.)
The DVR will continue to save a portion of live TV—up to 30 minutes of
programming.
If live TV was paused when Standby was selected, the DVR will remain paused for up
to 30 minutes.
If the TiVo Live Guide was set to display a category filter, filtering will be turned off.
