Page 22 - Basic System Programming
INDeX 30
1. Connect the serial cable between your PC Port 1 and Port 1 (RH port viewed
from the front) of the INDeX 30. Only Avaya supplied serial cables should be
used otherwise damage to the INDeX or connected equipment may occur.
2. In Windows, select Start | Run and enter Hypertrm.exe
3. Enter a name for the file, select Com Port 1 and, at Port Settings, select 9600
baud with flow control set to Xon/Xoff.
4. From File, select Properties and Settings. Select ANSI as the emulation.
5. Press ↵ and the INDeX Administration menu will appear.
Note and record the INDeX CPU serial number for future reference (required for
the issue of any future licence key).
6. Enter the Username> and press ↵. The Password> will appear. Enter your
programming password and press ↵.
Remember that the INDeX 30 is case sensitive.
After three incorrect logon attempts, the INDeX 30 locks the programming
port for one hour. You can reset the system by switching the power off and
on again or you may use the other serial port.
7. If the password is OK, the resources menu is displayed; stating software version
level and language being used. Press ↵ to display the Administration menu.
