INDeX 30
This section reviews the requirements for installing an INDeX 30 system. You must
meet these requirements for the system to operate safely and in the intended
manner.
This section covers :
– "Tools & Parts Required" on page 4.
– "Space Requirements" on page 5.

– "Power Supply Requirements" on page 6.
– "Cabling & Trunking" on page 7.
– "EMC & Earthing Requirements" on page 9.
General :
– 6.5mm Slothead screwdriver for removal of cabinet covers.
– Cutter/knife for cable ties.
– Cable ties - 3mm x 50mm.
Cabinet Mounting :
– Tape measure (up to 500mm).
– Drill + 8mm drill bit.
– Spirit level.
– 5mm diameter woodscrews + wallplugs (3 per cabinet).
– Cabinet Mounting Bracket.
Power Supply :
– Spare Fuse:
Note: This is a BABT safety critical item and must not be replaced by any
other type.
– 2A - 38CPR10001SAC.
Programming :
These are the tools required for programming of a newly installed INDeX 30. Once
the system is installed they may be replaced by other methods such as Telnet or
SNMP.
– PC with serial port supporting 9.6K baud minimum.
– PC comms package emulating VT-100 with ANSI font.
E.g. Windows 95 using HyperTerminal
– INDeX programming serial port cable (38YCN00001SDP)
– INDeX programming ethernet port cable (38YCN00001EAG)
– For serial port software uploads and downloads Kermit V2.29b must be used.
A baud rate of 19.2K or higher is strongly recommended.
