INDeX 30
When used outside of the UK, the INDeX 30 requires that the appropriate country
database file is uploaded. Use the following procedure to upload the required
database file.
The INDeX country file is made up from selected sections of the normal system
database. Items such as the ARS settings, transmission gains and other parameters
defined for a specific country may be loaded prior to the system being configured for
the customer.
Two types of country file are available, these are Default Database (.DDB) and
Upgrade Database (.UDB) files.
A Default Database file is required to configure a new INDeX CPU for use in a
particular country.
An Upgrade Database file is required to configure the database of an existing
system for use with a later level of INDeX software. Please note that this file does
not contain the ARS settings.
The name of the country file will indicate the country it is designed for and the
minimum level of system software that it may be used with e.g. FR91-1.DDB
indicates this is a French country file for 9.1 and above software, it is the first
revision of the file and it is for creating a Default System Database.
The country file is uploaded into the system in the same way as a normal customer
database using the Database Upload function in the Database Management menu
of the system, using the filename DB.
When the country file has been loaded, the system should be restarted in the normal
way and when logging on to the system, the country name should have changed to
that of the selected country.
In order to set the default groups required, go to the System / Installation / Clear
device database option and select it.
