Boards in PCI slots

8.4.1

Installing a board

Ê Shut down the operating system.
Ê Switch the server off, and pull the power plug out of the power outlet.

CAUTION!
The power switch does not disconnect the device from the line
voltage. To disconnect the line voltage completely, remove the power
plug from the grounded power outlet.
Ê Open the server (floorstand model only), and remove the top cover, the side
cover, and the slot cover (see chapter "Opening and closing the server" on
page 47).

Ê Press the mounting clip in the direction of the arrow (1), and remove it (2).
Ê Remove the rear slot cover plate from the slot (3).

CAUTION!
Do no dispose of the rear slot cover plate. To ensure that the server
components are cooled properly, you must refit the rear slot cover plate
if you remove the board.
