Isysnet I/O ControlNet Adapter
Catalog Number PSSCCNA
Use these notes with your Isysnet I/O ControlNet adapter
module installation instructions, publication E103P, and
wiring diagrams, publication PSS-WD004.
Corrected Anomaly in Revision 1.081
We corrected the following anomaly in revision 1.081.
When the data for a specific I/O module does not change often,
the backplane connection for that module can time out. This
behavior is most likely to occur on modules with produced data.
The connection reconnects without user intervention.
On busy backplanes, I/O modules with consumed data can time
out when the PSSCCNA adapter fails to send data within the
timeout period. In an effort to provide the PSSCCNA adapter
with some relief, we modified backplane-connection behavior. If a
requested packet interval (RPI) of 50 ms or greater is requested
on the ControlNet connection, the I/O module is prohibited
from updating its data faster than every 8 ms on the backplane.
Connections with an RPI less than 50 ms are not affected.
Corrected Anomaly in Revision 1.079
We corrected the following anomaly in firmware version 1.079.
If you remove a series of I/O modules under power and replace
one of the removed modules, the adapter can make an I/O
connection to the replaced module, even though the adapter
should not let this connection take place. For example, if you
have established I/O connections to I/O modules in slots 3,
4, and 5, then remove these modules and re-insert only the
module from slot 4, the adapter can make an I/O connection to
slot 4. The adapter should not make this connection until you
replace the modules for slots 3 and 5 as well.
Enhancement in Revision 1.078
We reduced the time for new out-of-box system initialization
and eliminated the potential need for power cycles.
Corrected Anomaly in Revision 1.078
We corrected an anomaly that prevented the use of the
PSSS23A module with its maximum data size of 132 bytes
(128 bytes of data + 4 bytes of status).
