& WARNING ‑ Risk of fire and injury from
antifreeze
If antifreeze comes into contact with hot com‐
ponent parts in the engine compartment, it
may ignite.
Allow the engine to cool down before
#
adding antifreeze.
Make sure that no antifreeze spills out
#
next to the filler opening.
Thoroughly clean off any antifreeze from
#
component parts before starting the
vehicle.
* NOTE Damage caused by incorrect cool‐
ant
Only add coolant that has been pre‐
#
mixed with the required antifreeze pro‐
tection.
Information on coolant is available at the follow‐
ing locations:
in the MB Specifications for operating fluids
R
310.1
at http://bevo.mercedes-benz.com
-
in the BeVo app
-
at a qualified specialist workshop
R
* NOTE Overheating at high outside tem‐
peratures
If an inappropriate coolant is used, the engine
cooling system is not sufficiently protected
against overheating and corrosion at high out‐
side temperatures.
Always use a coolant approved by
#
Mercedes-Benz.
Observe the instructions in the MB
#
Specifications for operating fluids310.1.
* NOTE Paintwork damage due to coolant
Do not spill coolant on painted surfaces.
#
Have the coolant regularly replaced at a qualified
specialist workshop.
Note the proportion of anti-corrosion agent/anti‐
freeze in the engine cooling system within the fol‐
lowing temperature ranges:
At least 50% (antifreeze protection up to
R
about -35 °F (-37 °C))
Maximum 55% (antifreeze protection up to
R
-49 °F (-45 °C))

Windshield washer fluid
Notes on windshield washer fluid
Observe the notes on operating fluids
(
page 325).
/
& WARNING ‑ Risk of fire and injury from
windshield washer concentrate
Windshield washer concentrate is highly flam‐
mable. It could ignite if it comes into contact
with hot engine component parts or the
exhaust system.
Make sure that no windshield washer
#
concentrate spills out next to the filler
opening.
* NOTE Damage to the exterior lighting
due to unsuitable windshield washer fluid
Unsuitable windshield washer fluid may dam‐
age the plastic surface of the exterior lighting.
Only use windshield washer fluid which
#
is also suitable for use on plastic surfa‐
ces, e.g. MB SummerFit or MB Winter‐
Fit.
* NOTE Blocked spray nozzles caused by
mixing windshield washer fluids
Do not mix MB SummerFit and MB Win‐
#
terFit with other windshield washer flu‐
ids.
Do not use distilled or de-ionized water. Other‐
wise, the level sensor may give a false reading.
