Trailer power supply

Incorrect cabling of the connector plug may inter‐
fere with other electronic systems in the vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz therefore recommends that you
have the cabling of the connector plug carried
out at a qualified specialist workshop.
You can connect accessories up to a maximum of
240 W to the permanent power supply. Do not
charge a trailer battery using the power supply.
Your vehicle may be equipped with a range of
electrical equipment for trailer operation.
Depending on your trailer, you may need an
adapter for the electrical connection between the
trailer and your vehicle.
The trailer socket of your vehicle is equipped with
a permanent power supply at the factory.
The permanent power supply is supplied via
trailer socket pin 4.
Note that the trailer's permanent power supply is
not switched off when the vehicle's on-board
electrical system voltage is low. This could com‐
pletely discharge your vehicle's starter battery.
Further information on the electrical equipment
currently installed on your vehicle, and on instal‐
ling trailer electrics, can be obtained at any quali‐
fied specialist workshop.
