Fuel R eserve W arning Lamp
The fuel reserve warning lamp will
come on when the key is turned to
steering lock position 2, and will go
out after the engine is running.
If the warning lamp stays on after the
engine starts, or comes on while driv
ing, it indicates that the fuel level is
down to the reserve quantity (12.5 I
[3.3 US gal]).
Low Windshield and Headlamp
Washer Fluid Level Indicator Lamp
The indicator lamp com es on with the
key in steering lock position 2 and
should go out when the engine is run
ning.
If the indicator lamp com es on with
the engine running, the level of the
reservoir has dropped
of the total
1/ 3
volume. The reservoir should be
refilled with MB W indshield Washer
Concentrate " S" and w ater (or com
mercially available prem ixed w ind
shield washer solvent/anti-freeze,
depending on ambient tem perature)
at the next opportunity. The reservoir
fo r the windshield and headlamp
washer system is located in the
engine com partm ent (see page 112).
E xterio r Light Failure In d icato r Lamp
With the key in steering lock posi
tion 2 , a dim indicator lamp com es on
and must go out with the engine run
ning.
With the key in steering lock posi
tion 2 or with the engine running, a
bright illumination of this lamp indi
cates an exterior lamp failure.
If an exterior light fails, the indicator
will come on only when that light is
sw itched on.
If a brake or turn signal light fails, the
light failure indicator will com e on
when applying the brake or actuating
the turn signal and stay on until the
engine is turned off.
Caution!
The indicator lamp will also com e on if
an incorrect bulb is installed.
If additional lighting equipm ent is
installed (e.g. auxiliary headlamps
etc.) be certain to connect into the
fuse before the failure indicator m oni
toring unit in order to avoid damaging
the system.
O utsid e T em p eratu re Indicator
The tem perature sensor is located in
the fro n t bum per area. Due to its loca
tion, the sensor can be affected by
road or engine heat during idling or
slow driving. This means that the
accuracy of the displayed tem pera
ture can only be verified by com par
ison to a therm om eter placed next to
the sensor, not by com parison to
external displays (e.g., bank signs,
etc.).
A daptation to ambient tem perature
takes place in steps and depends on
the prevailing driving conditions (stop
and go or moderate, constant driving)
and am ount o f tem perature change.
Warning!
The outside tem perature indica
tor is not designed to serve as an
Ice-Warning-Device and is there
fore unsuitable for that purpose.
Indicated temperatures just
above freezing point do not guar
antee that the road surface is free
of ice.
