Switch off the ignition and wait at least

Remove cover 1.

Press and hold button 3.

Pull plug

out of the ground pin.

as far as possible in the direc‐

tion of the arrow so that it cannot make con‐
tact with the earth pin.
All starter battery consumers are disconnec‐
ted from the power supply.

Switching on the power supply

Press plug

onto the ground pin until you

feel it engage and plug
with the ground pin.
All starter battery consumers are reconnec‐
ted to the power supply.
Fasten cover 1.

Function of the DIRECT SELECT lever

& WARNING Risk of accident and injury
due to children left unattended in the
vehicle
If children are left unattended in the vehicle,
they could:
open doors, thereby endangering other

persons or road users.
get out of the vehicle and be hit by

oncoming traffic.

operate vehicle equipment and become

In addition, children could also set the vehicle
in motion, for example, by:
releasing the parking brake.

shifting the automatic transmission out of

Never leave children and animals unat‐

tended in the vehicle.
When leaving the vehicle, always take

the SmartKey with you and lock the
vehicle.
Keep the SmartKey out of the reach of

children.
& WARNING Risk of accident due to incor‐
rect gearshifting
If the engine speed is higher than the idle
speed and you engage the transmission posi‐
tion h or k, the vehicle may accelerate
sharply.
If you engage the transmission position
#
h or k always depress the brake
pedal firmly and do not accelerate at
the same time.
You use the DIRECT SELECT lever to switch the
transmission position. The current transmission
position appears in the multifunction display.
j Park position
k Reverse gear
i Neutral
h Drive position
