14 Apply blue thread locker into the sensor
housing threaded holes and insert the sensor
carrier plate guiding "finger" into the sensor
retainer bracket. Be sure the sensor faces the
magnet and the notch on the carrier plate
aligns with the sensor housing (illustration 1,
item 3).
15 Use the provided 1/2 in / 12.7 mm phillips head
screws (illustration 2, item 8) to attach the
sensor carrier plate to the sensor housing.
Securely tighten the fasteners. Do not
overtighten.
16 Attach the sensor harness to the sensor
retainer bracket using zip ties.
17 Route the sensor harness into the end of the
boom and connect it to the boom harness.
18 Reinstall the boom cover, making sure the
sensor harness is not pinched between the
boom cover and the boom.
19 Reconnect the negative terminal to the start
battery and the auxiliary battery, if equipped.
20 Calibrate the boom angle sensor. Refer to
Repair Procedure, How to Calibrate the Boom
Angle Sensor.

How to Calibrate the Primary
Boom Length Sensor
Note: The turntable level sensor must be calibrated
prior to calibrating the primary boom.
Note: Primary boom angle must be calibrated
before calibrating boom length.
Note: This procedure will establish the cross-check
angle with the boom limit switch LSB1RS. If
LSB1RS does not switch its state properly during
calibration, the calibration will be invalidated.

Fully retract the boom. Ensure the boom angle
is above 45°.

Enter Service Mode. See Repair Procedure,
How to Enter Service Mode.

Press the settings button above the display
and navigate to Sensor Calibrations.

Navigate to the Boom Length Sensor
calibration screen.

Select and start the calibration procedure.

Start the engine.

When the display prompts the operator to
retract the boom, press and hold the function
enable and boom retract buttons until the
display indicates the retracted calibration point
has been obtained. This may require holding
the buttons for several seconds after the boom
has fully retracted.
