Problem
You hear a warning signal.

A message appears in the multi-function
display.
You are pulling away with the electric
parking brake applied.
You have opened the driver's door and for-
gotten to switch off the lights.

Risk of injury
You or your front passenger are not wear-
ing a seat belt.
You have:
switched off the engine
opened the driver's door
not moved the transmission selector
lever to P
Suggested solutions
Observe the notes ( page 429).
Release the electric parking brake
( page 289).
Turn the light switch to M or *.
Fasten your seat belt ( page 274).
Move the transmission selector lever
to P.
