Risk of poisoning
Make sure that the boot lid is always closed
when the engine is running. Otherwise, ex-
haust fumes could get into the vehicle inte-
rior and poison you.

The boot lid swings upwards. Therefore,
make sure that there is sufficient clearance
above the boot lid.
Opening and closing manually

Do not leave the key in the boot. Otherwise,
you could lock yourself out.
Opening from the outside
You can only open the boot manually if you
have first unlocked it.
To unlock centrally: press the Œ
button on the key.

Pull the handle in the direction of the
arrow.
Raise the boot lid.
Closing from the outside

Risk of injury
Make sure that nobody can become trapped
when closing the boot lid.

Pull the boot lid down firmly using re-
cess 1.
If necessary, press down on the edges
of the boot lid.

If the vehicle was previously locked central-
ly, it is only necessary to close the boot lid again.
It will then be automatically locked.
Locking and unlocking separately*
If you lock the boot separately using the
emergency key element, you can only un-
lock it again using the emergency key ele-
ment.
Remove the emergency key element
from the key ( page 495).
