Programming Instructions for the ETL600 Rel.1 Equipment
A.1
General
All RF channel settings, all settings of telephony- and teleoperation-ports, most settings of the
integrated teleprotection system NSD600 are performed with the configuration program HMI600.
Typically this data are configured off-line and stored as a file on a disk. All these settings are
loaded from a file – the ETL600 configuration file *.et6 – and downloaded to the equipment. The
download of hardware settings such as jumpers or the presence or absence of modules without
access to the TDM bus is just for documentation and the correctness of this information must be
verified in the course of this instruction.
The most important settings are the RF Tx and Rx carrier. A few settings have to be adjusted with
the equipment e.g. the Tx RF level. Most of these tuning, testing and adjustment procedures are
supported by HMI600.
First some hardware settings of the analogous passive modules, like the Tx-Filter and the Rx-Filter
must be done. When hardware settings, like jumpers and solder bridges must be set, refer to the
named documents and use settings, which are specified in chapter 'system settings' at the end of
this document on page A1 and following.
Follow conscientiously and step-by-step this instruction and the equipment will work properly!
A.2
Create a configuration for the equipment using HMI600
Create a configuration for your equipment with HMI600. This is described in the instruction manual
1KHW001489, section 5, 'Configuration and set-up'.
If a preconfigured file exists, open this file. Make sure, that you have opened the right file by
displaying the configuration text on screen (View / Display configuration) and check the entries of
'Equipment identification'.
A.3
Assemblies in racks P7LA and P7LC
A.3.1
Number of P7LA racks
Check in the configuration file (View / Display hardware settings only) if the number of P7LA
racks corresponds to the hardware. If the entry is wrong, it can be corrected in the dialog
Configuration / Services / Type / RF-PEP [W]. by selecting 10, 20 or 40 W if one single P1LA is
present. In case two P1LA are present, select 80 W.
A.3.2
Assemblies in upper rack P7LA, if present
Check in the configuration file (View / Display hardware settings only) if the type of supply (B5LA
or B5LC) corresponds to the hardware. If the entry is wrong, it can be corrected in the dialog
Configuration / System / Equipment settings / Assemblies in upper rack P7LA.
Check if all assemblies are mounted at the correct position as given by the configuration file (View /
Display hardware settings only / Modules and assemblies in upper rack P7LA).
A.3.3
Assemblies in lower rack P7LA
Check in the configuration file (View / Display hardware settings only) if the type of supply (B5LA
or B5LC) corresponds to the hardware. If the entry is wrong, it can be corrected in the dialog
Configuration / System / Equipment settings / Assemblies in lower rack P7LA.
Check if all assemblies are mounted at the correct position as given by the configuration file (View /
Display hardware settings only / Modules and assemblies in lower rack P7LA).
