How to Adjust the
Steering Relief Valve
(before serial number 36045)
1 Connect a 0 to 5000 psi / 0 to 350 bar pressure
gauge to the test port (item AB) on the function
manifold.

2 Turn the key switch to ground control and pull
out the Emergency Stop button to the on
position at both the ground and platform
controls.

Section 4 • Repair Procedures
3 Press and hold the steer thumb rocker switch to
the right. Allow the wheels to completely turn to
the right, then continue holding the switch while
observing the pressure reading on the pressure
gauge. Note the pressure.
4 Press and hold the steer thumb rocker switch to
the left. Allow the wheels to completely turn to
the left, then continue holding the switch while
observing the pressure reading on the pressure
gauge. Note the pressure. Refer to Section 2,
Specifications.
5 Turn the machine off. Hold the steering relief
valve with a wrench and remove the cap
(item AE).
6 Adjust the internal hex socket. Turn it clockwise
to increase the pressure or counterclockwise to
decrease the pressure. Install the relief valve
cap.
Tip-over hazard. Failure to adjust
the relief valves to specification
could cause the machine to tip
over resulting in death or serious
injury. Do not adjust the relief
valve pressures higher than
specifications.
7 Repeat steps 3 and 4 to confirm the relief valve
pressure.
