Cabling the Cisco RFGW-10 UEQAM
The Cisco RFGW-10 UEQAM is a "cable once" system allowing removal of individual front-side
Universal RF line cards without disconnecting any specific physical RF coaxial connection. All RF
signaling is terminated at the rear-side RF switching modules.
There are 12 RF switch cards per RFGW-10 chassis (the chassis MUST include all the 12 RF switch
cards for proper operation). Each Switch Card supports a single Cisco UCH2 connector header; each
UCH2 supports 10 MCX style coaxial connections per RF switch card. The RF switch card is physically
separate from the RF line card slots allowing insertion and removal of the RF line cards without
disrupting the cable plant wiring.
Note
Quad-shield coaxial cable bundles for the Cisco RFGW-10 RF switch card can be purchased from Cisco,
with the Universal Cable Holders (UCH) already connected to the coaxial cable bundles. Alternatively,
custom-length quad-shield coaxial cable bundles can be purchased from third-party vendors, with the
UCH either connected to the cable bundles or provided as seperate components. The preconfigured cable
bundles from Cisco comprise of 10 MCX terminated RF cables connected to UCH2. The twelve
preconfigured cable bundles are required to fully connect the Cisco RFGW-10 chassis.
