7.3 Communication Procedure with External Devices

7.3.1 Communication with a console

This section explains how to communicate with a console, terminal, printer, other
external devices.
The following explains how to communicate with a console connected to either the RS-
232C or the RS-422/RS-485 interface of the communication module, as well as
precautions when carrying out the communication.
The console setting for the communication module are set using the DIP switch of
the communication module. See the user's manual of each communication module
for the details.
(1) To display data on the console screen
1) Switch the output destination to the console using the ZODV instruction.
ZODV 0
Always 0 when the console is specified.
2) Use the following instructions to output to the console screen or to control the screen:
PRINT
Displays data on the screen of the specified console.
PRINT USING
Displays data on the screen of the specified console. (Format can be specified.)
LOCATE
Specifies the data display location at the specified console screen.
CLS
Clears the screen of the specified console.
Note that the TAB and SPC functions can also be used with the PRINT
instruction.
