3. Grasp the fan you are removing and pull the fan straight up and out of its fan
bracket.
Note:
Air flow direction is from the front of the system to
the rear of the system.
4. Check the replacement fan and ensure the air flow arrow located on the side
of the fan is pointed to the rear of the system when installing the fan into the
fan bracket. Position the replacement fan in the system so that the printed
information on the fan housing is facing the rear panel. Also, position the
fan so the fan power cable is nearest the system board.
5. Connect the fan power cable to the system board.
6. Replace the top cover, plug in the system power cord, and power on the
system.
7. Slide the server into the system rack and secure it to the rack.
8. Install and secure the front bezel following procedures described earlier in
this chapter.
