Replacing the fan tray in an 8003-R chassis

Replace the fan tray in the 8003-R chassis when the existing fan tray fails to work.
You can replace the fan tray in the 8003-R chassis with the power on or off.
Procedure steps
1. Loosen the two retaining screws that fasten the fan tray into the chassis.
2. Wait 10 seconds for the fans to stop turning. Pull the fan tray from the chassis.
3. Slide the new fan tray into the chassis until the connectors at the rear of the fan tray
Routine Maintenance
Caution:
Grasp the fan tray at the middle of the front panel. Be careful to keep your fingers
away from the fan blades.
engage.
If the chassis is powered on, the fans start running when the fan tray connectors
are fully engaged.
