If you are using front to back cooling or back to front cooling, ensure that you use compatible power
supplies that match the cooling fan airflow.
The following figure shows AC power supply.

Redundant power supply configurations
You can install two or four power supplies for redundancy and load sharing. You can hot-swap
power supplies for nonstop, uninterrupted switch operation.
Power supply monitoring
For enhanced monitoring, power supplies send information to the switch software about the type
(AC and airflow mode).

Installing the fan trays and power supply

Your switch supports a combination of field-replaceable power supplies and cooling fan trays.
Depending on the switch model, two or four trays are included with your switch. You must install the
fan trays and at least one power supply before using the switch. The optional power supply unit can
be installed for redundancy and load sharing.
