Removing a module
Remove a module to clean the chassis slots or backplane.
Removing a module takes three to five minutes.
Prerequisites
• Before you remove an 8692 or 8895 SF/CPU module, back up your configuration. If the
chassis has only one SF/CPU module and you remove that module, the switch does not
operate.
• Ensure that traffic is not traversing the module. First, disable the module. For further
instructions, see Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 8800/8600 Configuration — Ethernet
Modules, NN46205-503.
Warning:
Risk of eye injury
Fiber optic equipment can emit laser or infrared light that can injure your eyes. Never look
into an optical fiber or connector port. Always assume that fiber optic cables are connected
to a light source.
