Chapter 5: Chassis slots and backplane
This chapter describes how to clean the Ethernet Routing Switch 8800/8600 chassis slots and
backplane.
Clean the chassis slots and backplane to ensure proper air flow for cooling, thereby ensuring the longevity
and optimal performance of the equipment.
Clean the slots and the backplane using a vacuum or brushes once every year.
When cleaning, limit the dispersion of dust and dirt. A vacuum causes less dispersion than brushes.
Important:
Carefully plan the process of removing modules and cleaning slots and the backplane to minimize traffic
disruption.
For the 8010 and 8010co chassis, the vents are located on the side of the device.
