Recording Audio
The system supports up to 4 channels of audio recording. You must connect self-powered
microphones (not included) to record with audio.
NOTE
Audio recording without consent is illegal in certain jurisdictions. Lorex Corporation assumes no liability
for use of its products that does not confirm with local laws.
18.1 STEP 1: Connecting a Self-Powered Microphone
1. Only channels 1–4 can be set to record audio from a self-powered microphone. Con-
nect the camera(s) that will be near the microphone(s) to channels 1–4.
2. Connect the microphone to one of the AUDIO INPUT (RCA) ports on the system.
Match the AUDIO INPUT number with the VIDEO INPUT number of the camera you
want to record audio on.
3. (OPTIONAL) Connect a speaker to the AUDIO OUTPUT (RCA) port on the system.
NOTE
If you are using an HDMI TV or monitor with speakers, the HDMI cable will output audio to the speak-
ers on the monitor.
18.2 STEP 2: Configuring Audio Recording
Ensure that you enable audio for any channels that have a microphone connected to the
corresponding AUDIO INPUT channel. See 12.2.11 Configuring System Recording Qual-
ity (Mainstream and Substream), page 60 for full instructions on enabling audio recording.
