1D-40 Engine Mechanical:
• Apply thread lock to the intake pipe mounting bolts.
: Thread lock cement 99000–32110
(THREAD LOCK CEMENT SUPER 1322 or
equivalent)
• Apply engine oil to the O-ring and install the oil jet.
CAUTION
!
Use new O-ring to prevent oil pressure
leakage.
• Apply engine coolant to the O-ring of the thermostat
connector.
CAUTION
!
Use a new O-ring to prevent engine coolant
leakage.
• Tighten the thermostat connector bolts (3) to the
specified torque.
Tightening torque
Thermostat connector bolt (c): 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-
m, 7.0 lb-ft)
• Install the thermostat (4).
NOTE
The air bleeder hole "A" of the thermostat
faces upside.

• Tighten the thermostat cover bolts (5) to the specified
torque.
Tightening torque
Thermostat cover bolt (d): 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.0
lb-ft)
• Tighten the ECT sensor (6) to the specified torque.
Tightening torque
Engine coolant temperature sensor (e): 18 N·m (
1.8 kgf-m, 13.0 lb-ft)
CAUTION
!
• Take special care when handling the
temperature sensor. It may cause damage
if it gets a sharp impact.
• Replace a gasket with a new one.
