trunks directly. Direct Trunk
Access also lets
maintenance personnel
access and test individual
trunks.
Feature Quick Steps
To place a call over a specific trunk using Direct Trunk Access:
1.
Lift handset + Press ICM .
2.
Dial 4 plus the trunk number (e.g., 401 for trunk 1).
If you hear busy tone, you may be able to dial 2 to queue for the busy trunk. See Trunk
(Line) Queuing / Trunk Callback on page 93 for more.
3.
Dial outside number.
Directed Call Pickup allows
co-workers to answer each
other's calls.
With Directed Call Pickup, an extension user can pick up:
Trunk (Key Ring) calls ringing an extension
Direct Inward Lines
Transferred trunk calls
Ringing Intercom calls.
Recalls (e.g., Hold recall)
Feature Quick Steps
To use Directed Call Pickup to intercept a call ringing a co-worker's extension:
1.
Lift handset + Dial * * .
2.
Dial number of extension whose call you want to intercept.
Availability: All versions.
Direct Trunk Access lets an extension user access (seize) an
individual trunk. After seizing the trunk, the user can dial any
outside telephone number without restriction. An extension's
Class of Service allows or denies Direct Trunk Access. Direct
Trunk Access is normally only provided for attendants, priority
users and maintenance personnel.
Availability: All versions.
Directed Call Pickup permits an extension user to intercept a
call ringing another extension.
