About Subsystem Maintenance

Constant monitoring and maintenance of your subsystem minimizes
system downtime and preserves the working integrity of the system for
a longer period of time. If any of the subsystem components fails, they
must be replaced as soon as possible.
Do not remove a failed component from the subsystem until you
have a replacement on hand. If you remove a failed component
without replacing it, the internal airflow will be disrupted and the
system will overheat, causing damage to the subsystem.
All of the following components can be replaced in case of failure:
1.
RAID controller module(s) – Section 5.2
2.
Memory module(s) – Section 5.3
3.
BBU(s) – Section 5.4
4.
PSUs – Section 5.5
5.
Cooling modules – Section 5.6
6.
Hard drives and drive trays – Section 5.7
7.
MUX kits – Section 5.8

General Notes on Component Replacement

In S12F-R1432, controllers, PSUs, BBUs and drive trays are hot-
swappable. In S12F-G1433, hot-swappable components include
cooling modules, PSUs, BBU and drive trays.
Only qualified engineers who are familiar with RAID storage
hardware should make component replacements. If you are not
familiar with the EonStor series or with RAID subsystem
