Engine does not start
Possible cause
Switch the LANE select
switch A/B to "OFF".
Set the EMS main switch to
"OFF".
Closed fuel selector/valve.
No fuel in tank.
Fuel pumps
Starting speed too low, faulty
or discharged battery.
Starting speed too low, starting
problems on cold engine.
Wrong fuel (Jetfuel or Diesel).
Engine keeps running with ignition off
Possible cause
Overheating of engine.

Knocking under load

Possible cause
Octane rating of fuel too low.
Intake air temperature to high. Reduce the power.
Low oil pressure
Possible cause
Not enough oil in oil tank.
BRP-Powertrain
Remedy
Switch the EMS main switch LANE se-
lect switch A/B to "ON".
Set the EMS main switch to
"AUTO".
Open valve or clean filter, alternatively
renew filter. Check fuel system for leak-
age.
Refuel.
Set both to "ON".
Fit fully charged battery.
Use top quality, low friction oil; allow for
sufficient cooling period to counter for
performance drop on hot starter; pre-
heat engine.
Change of fuel.
Remedy
Let engine cool down at idling at ap-
prox. 2000 rpm.
Remedy
Use fuel with higher octane rating.
Check air filter according to Mainte-
nance Manual Line Chapter 12-20-00.
Remedy
Refill oil.
