Is the separation roller
deformed or worn?
Checks
Turn off the power while copy
paper is moving through the
feeding assembly. Is the copy
paper wrinkled at this time?
Further, is it moving askew?
Try fresh copy paper. Is the
problem corrected?
Is the paper of a type recom-
mended by Canon?
Check the inlet guide for for-
eign matter (e.g., toner)?
Is the fixing film displaced?
Yes/No
YES Replace the separation roller.
NO Check the torque limiter.
Yes/No
YES Check the pick-up assembly.
Check the registration roller.
YES The copy paper may be moist;
advise the user on the correct
method of storing paper.
NO Advise the user to use recom-
mended paper.
YES Clean with solvent.
YES Make adjustments.
NO Replace the fixing assembly.
