4.7. Exchange and charging of battery

4.7.1. Removal and installation of battery
If you intend to use the vehicle longer than 5 hours, without being able to recharge the battery, or
when the battery has reached the end of its lifetime or is defective, the battery must be exchanged.
Attention: Always replace the battery by an original battery YUASA 12V-6,5 Ah, as this battery
is a matched system with the recharger.
Note:
Batteries contain environmentally harmful but at the same time valuable raw
materials and therefore must be appropriately disposed of or recycled.
Removal of battery:
Lift vehicle or place it on a trolley.
Detach the black (-) pole (to avoid short-
circuit).
Remove inner and outer rubber fixation strap
(pos. 19).
Lift battery cover top and bottom part (pos. 20
and pos. 18) together.
Detach red (+) pole.
Remove battery (pos.17) from its support (pos.14).
Attention: By no means a short circuit must be produced between the two connecting pole.
This would damage the battery or even make the battery explode.
Attention: When transporting a removed battery, cover the two poles in case of contact with
metallic objects as this could be a fire risk.
Installation of battery:
Lift vehicle or place it on a trolley.
Install battery with black pole (-) pole being in front/bottom position.
Connect red (+) pole.
Fit battery cover lower and upper part (pos.18 and pos.20) together.
Attach rubber fixation strap (pos.19) attach the fixation strap to the outside first.
Stretch inner rubber fixation strap (pos.19) with right hand, hold it with left hand and hook it
in with the left index finger.
Attach black (-) pole.
